During an emergency, the time used by paramedic personnel to request Emergency Medical Information (EMI) from the patient\/victim before being able to offer the first aid, is known as the \"Critical Time\".\u00a0<\/p>

The aim of ICE Medic is to reduce this \"Critical Time\" and provide the paramedics with the appropriate EMI needed, in case the patient is unconscious or in a critical condition.<\/p>

ICE Medic programme provides its members the ability to administer their EMI in a centralized system. During an emergency, the first responders and paramedics personnel on the scene, retrieve and use this information before giving the member the needed first aid.<\/p>

The scope of the EMI collected, managed and presented to paramedics, would be limited to a subset of medical data and current treatments; specifically only those with critical attributes that anyone providing emergency medical assistance would want\/need to know.\u00a0 For instance, blood type, drug allergies, prevailing medical conditions or diseases, past surgeries or anatomical anomalies, current medication and treatments etc. The provided information is combined with the emergency contact details such as member's- primary, doctor, insurance and pharmacy contacts.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

ICE Medic provides paramedics personnel on-the-scene, with a secure access to the member's emergency medical information using an authorized application installed on the paramedics smart phones. Using this application, paramedics personnel can also push this information to the participating hospitals, notifying the ER personnel about the member EMI and arrival in advance.<\/p>

Also citizens who arrive at the scene of an emergency and are often forced to take immediate action or intervention in potentially life-threatening situations are served. By scanning the emergency alert code with and mobile device using any Qr-Code scanner application, citizens can read the member's public and emergency medical information with visibility set to public by the member self.<\/p><\/div><\/p>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A member joins the ICE Medic programme by signing up at ICEmedic.org<\/span><\/a> or using our LIFE-ID mobile app available for iOS<\/span><\/a> and Android<\/span><\/a> devices.<\/p>

After signing up for a new account, the member fills his\/her personal, contact and medical details that paramedics personnel need to know during an emergency. One or more emergency alert codes (QR-Codes) can be assigned to the member's account. The aim of this code is to enable this emergency medical information to be retrieved by the paramedics authorised application. Each data set has visibility settings allowing or disallowing the data contents to be read by paramedics authorised application or read by any Qr-Code reader when scanning the emergency alert code.<\/p>

This emergency medical information can be updated by the member at any time after signing in again at ICEmedic.org<\/a>. The emergency alert code can be obtained from the participating organizations' sponsors or through our portal when buying a subscription code.<\/p>
